I found out we won while I was in Italy, reading an email from the San Antonio Current publisher on my phone at a cafe. More than 100,000 locals cast over 370,000 votes in the 2026 Best of San Antonio Readers' Choice, and when the real estate category shook out, Veteran Real Estate San Antonio: The Beal Group was at the top. Best Real Estate Agency. Voted by the city we serve.

Here is the part I keep coming back to. The runners-up in our category were Keller Williams and Phyllis Browning, two of the biggest brokerage names in San Antonio, with hundreds of agents between them. The winner was one independent, veteran-owned agent, with a small support staff behind him and a single niche in front of him. Not a roster of agents. Not a franchise. We did not out-spend anyone or out-staff anyone. We got out-voted for, and that is entirely because of our clients.

I want to be straight about why this one hits different. Awards from industry publications measure production. The San Antonio Business Journal Top 25 (we placed #13 in 2024, #14 in 2025, and #20 in 2026) measures closed volume. eXp ICON status, which I have now earned seven times, measures performance against a brokerage standard. Those matter and I am proud of them. But Best of San Antonio is not an industry award. It is readers. It is past clients, the lender who watched us fight for a VA buyer's appraisal, the family we helped PCS out of Lackland on three weeks' notice, the Boerne sellers who trusted us with the biggest sale of their lives. You do not campaign your way to that. You earn it one closing at a time, over seven years, and then the city tells you what it thinks.

What We Actually Do, for Anyone Meeting Us Through This Award

The practice is built around one niche done exceptionally well: military and veteran real estate in San Antonio. VA loans, PCS timelines, JBSA housing decisions at Lackland, Fort Sam Houston, Randolph, and Camp Bullis. I am a U.S. Army veteran and a certified Military Relocation Professional, and the whole operation, from our BAH calculator to our base housing guides, exists because military families deserve an agent who already speaks the language. Alongside that, we represent luxury buyers and sellers across Boerne, Fair Oaks Ranch, Helotes, and the Hill Country. Right home, right price, right client, always.
